Skedaddle privacy policy
Last updated: 6 June 2026
Dadventures is a day-out planner for parents and their children, made by Danny Hearn. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and how you can remove it. The app is designed to collect as little as possible.
What we collect and why
Your name
When you choose to share a plan (“let nearby dads know you’re going”) or join someone else’s plan, the name you type is saved so other users in the app can see who is heading out. This is the only personal detail stored on our server, and only when you actively share or join. Shared plans are automatically deleted after 7 days.
Location
With your permission, the app uses your device’s location while you are using it to suggest activities near you and show local weather. Your coordinates are used on your device and sent to mapping and weather providers (see below) to deliver those features. Your location is not attached to your name or to the plans you share, and we do not keep a history of where you have been.
Your children’s ages
If you enter your children’s ages to filter age-appropriate activities, those ages are stored only on your device and are never sent to us.
Places you add
If you add an activity and choose to share it with other users, the place’s details (its name and location) and the name you’ve set are sent to us for review before it appears for others. Don’t share a place you don’t want to be public.
Usage data
We use privacy-friendly analytics (PostHog, hosted in the EU) to understand how the app is used — for example which steps people complete — so we can improve it. If you’ve set a name, analytics events are associated with it.
Third-party services
To provide the app’s features, limited data is processed by:
-
Supabase (EU/Ireland) — stores shared plans.
-
PostHog (EU) — product analytics.
-
Google Places — activity search and photos.
-
Open-Meteo — local weather.
-
OpenStreetMap / Nominatim and postcodes.io — turning coordinates into place names.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Shared plans are deleted automatically after 7 days. Data stored on your device (your name, last location, children’s ages, saved activities) stays until you delete it or remove the app.
Deleting your data
You can remove your data at any time from inside the app: open About and tap “Delete my data.” This deletes the plans you’ve shared and clears everything saved on your device. You can also email us and we’ll help.
Children’s privacy
This app is intended for parents, not for use by children. The only child-related information — your children’s ages — never leaves your device.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
